A wonderful story to this pub which is about 7 miles out of Bridgnorth on the Ludlow Road. It was actually purchased and refurbished by a group of residents. They came together and under the watchful eye of a couple of far-sighted and business minded locals, applied for grants, sold some land, and lo and behold they now have a fantastic pub in their village again.
The food is really worth driving some distance for – always fresh – lots of fish and local meats. Light bites, lunches and more hearty OR more fine dining – so really something for everyone. Of note is the wine cellar, which with the help of a special gadget so that wine can be opened and lasts – there is a huge range to choose from. And if the wine is that good – they have letting bedrooms too.
Will appeal to – sort of place you’d take your granny to for a lovely midweek meal, but we’ve also been to celebrate birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Equally welcome when we’re all muddy and cold having climbed the nearby Brown Clee.
